ARCHITECTURE
Concept Design
This is possibly the most exciting part of your project and the most enjoyable stage. It’s where we personally collaborate with you to establish your brief that will inform our design response. We throw on our creative caps to come up with an architectural solution personalised just for you.
If it’s your new family home you’re after, we’ll find out what gets you up in the morning and see how we can design a home that facilitates and shapes your lifestyle over time.
If you’re looking for your next development project, we’ll drill down into what it is you’re hoping to achieve so we can design something that makes a positive impact while remaining commercially viable.
Detailed Design
Sometimes referred to as the ‘design development’ stage, this is where we’ll take the concept and interrogate it further to; resolve any design issues, improve the design outcome, and start thinking about some of the more practical things.
You’ll receive some more detailed 3D visualisations of your project to help us communicate the design and keep the excitement going.
This is also when we need to let the authorities (i.e. Council) know what we’re planning so they too can be excited about it. For larger projects, there may be a whole team of specialised third-party consultants who will need to lend their expertise to the project (i.e. engineers, energy assessors, etc).
Documentation
Now your project is getting real. We’re starting to create a whole collection of drawings and documentation that will tell the people on site what we’ve designed and how it will all come together.
We will work closely with the project team and your carefully selected builder to ensure the project is constructed as per the design we’ve all laboured over.
Contract Services
Once the documentation has been completed, we can stick around throughout the construction stages to provide ongoing design support and supervision over the project. This will usually entail visiting the site, additional specifications or details on the design and administering the contract between yourself and your builder.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Running in parallel with the architectural stages, we generally include interior design for all of our projects. This will usually start in the Detailed Design stage but really develop further throughout the Documentation stage. You can consider it another little boost of creativity to make sure we’re all still excited about the design.
We’ll make sure the design of the interior complements the architecture and responds to your brief in the same way. It’s likely we’ll present you with a bunch of material samples for what we’re thinking about specifying for your project and arrange them in a mood board so you can see how the selected colours and textures will come together.
